TSMUG Board of Directors:
The TriState Midrange Users Group is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of six officers. All officers serve the group secondary to primary employment and without compensation.

Board of Director Duties by Office
Each office has set of duties as defined by our regulations.

President

  1. The President shall preside at all membership meetings.
  2. The President shall present at each October meeting of the Organization an annual report of the work of the Organization.
  3. The President shall appoint all committees, temporary and permanent.
  4. Responsibility for verifying that all books, reports, and certificates required by lay are properly kept and filed, resides with the President.
  5. The President shall be one of the Officers permitted to sign the checks and drafts of the Organization.
  6. The President, while supervising and controlling the affairs of the Organization, shall be subject to control of the Board of Trustees.
  7. Appoint the newsletter editor and web site editor.

Executive Vice President

  1. In the event of the absence of, or inability of the President to exercise his office, become acting President of the Organization with all the rights, privileges, power and responsibilities of the President.
  2. Perform other duties incident to the office, and such duties as may be assigned by the Board of Trustees.

Vice President of Education

  1. Serve as an educational resource for the membership.
  2. Make arrangements for regular meeting topics of discussion, including Guest Speakers, discussion panels, and their presentation requirements.
  3. Survey the membership annually to determine the most desired topics of interest.
  4. Maintain liaison with any parent and umbrella IBM user group or other computer related Organizations.
  5. Perform all other duties incident to the office and such duties as may be assigned by the Board of Trustees.

Vice President of Membership

  1. Prepare the annual membership application and arrange for mailing.
  2. Shall keep the official roster of members in good standing.
  3. Shall collect and keep all submitted member applications.
  4. Publicize and market membership opportunities.
  5. Produce an annual membership roster, providing there is proper sponsorship for publication.
  6. Perform all other duties incident to the office and such duties as may be assigned by the Board of Trustees.

Secretary

  1. The Secretary shall keep the minutes and records of the Organization in appropriate books.
  2. It shall be the duty of the Secretary to file any certificate required by any statute, Federal or State.
  3. The Secretary shall send notices as required to all members of this Organization.
  4. The Secretary shall be responsible for all correspondence of the Organization.
  5. The Secretary will perform other duties incident to office, and such duties as may be assigned by the Board of Trustees.
  6. Establish the annual schedule of membership meetings.
  7. Make arrangements for regularly monthly meetings including facilities, menu and attendee reservation list.

Treasurer

  1. The Treasurer shall be responsible for all moneys received, to keep and maintain adequate and correct amounts of the association's properties and business transactions, including accounts of its assets, liabilities, receipts, disbursements, gains and losses.
  2. The Treasurer shall file any certificate required by tax law.
  3. The Treasurer shall be one of the Officers who may sign the checks and drafts of the Organization.
  4. The Treasurer will perform other duties incident to the office and such duties as may be assigned by the Board of Trustees.
  5. The Treasurer must report the financial account of the Organization to the membership at each meeting.

Board of Directors - Eligibility

  1. At the regular meeting prior to the May meeting of the Organization, the nominating committee will present to the membership a slate of candidates for the Board of Trustees of the Organization.
  2. To be eligible for election to any office, a candidate must be an Associate (member).
  3. No more than two (2) Officers may come from the same represented company.

  1. All Officers and Trustees shall be eligible for re-election for no more than two consecutive terms.
